IMDG Code 41-22 Standard

Introduction

The IMDG Code Standard course is IMDG training for general shipping personnel such as booking office staff, administrators, customer support and office personnel who require a sound working knowledge of the IMDG Code and dangerous goods shipping requirements.

This Function Specific course is designed to meet the training requirements in 1.3.1.2.1 and 1.3.1.2.2 of the IMDG Code. It provides suitable function specific IMDG training for those personnel who may not be covered by the more ‘hands on’ Function Specific courses.

The IMDG Code Standard course provides:

  • An introduction to the IMDG Code
  • An overview of
    • the IMDG Code general provisions
    • dangerous goods classification and identification provisions
    • package marking and labelling requirements
    • CTU marking and placarding requirements
    • stowage requirements
    • segregation requirements
    • requirements for limited quantities and excepted quantities shipments
    • additional provisions concerning transport, including emergency response provisions
  • In-depth training on documentation requirements and completion procedures

Course Objectives

  • To identify the IMDG Codes
  • To apply the provisions of the IMDG Code to safely and efficiently perform their role in the transportation of dangerous goods by sea and overland.

Customs Clearance Course

Introduction

International Freight and Cargo Training Course

Introduction

International trade and logistics involves the buying and selling of goods internationally. This course introduces you to the different aspects of trade and focuses on shipping – the process that enables goods to travel from point of production / manufacturing up to consumers.

The Course also lays emphasis on Customs declaration, procedures, tariffs, classifications, Regimes and Calculations of import and export duties and other taxes.

This Course is designed to introduce you to selected key concepts of international trade and the shipping process (i.e: importing and exporting, shipping documentation, methods of payment, the roles of the different parties involved and basic law), and to help you develop learning skills, which will provide a sound basis for further work. The Course materials have been produced with the needs of new learners in mind. They assume no special knowledge and no experience of studying.
