Attendance
The Administration office keeps a record of each student's attendance, which reflects his or her academic performance. All students are expected to attend their classes according to their timetable and required number of hours. In case of an illness of three days or more, a Medical Certificate will be necessary. The student will need to fill in a form which is available in Admission Office to confirm his absence and the reason behind it.
Only those students achieving at least 80% attendance will be eligible for Attendance Certificate.
Examination Entry
Only students, who meet their attendance criteria; who do not have any pending financial dues or who are not banned by the Administration due to any disciplinary problem and/or have no discrepancies in their academic record, are allowed to take the examinations, provided that the Rector has recommended them for taking the exams.
Personal Conduct
Students are expected to behave as responsible mature persons, and act with in the moral norms of the society while attending the Academy. The students are expected to abide by the general code of conducts below:
- Be responsible for your own life and that of others
- Be respectful of the rights of all individuals
- Be cultured and open to different civilizations and concerned for justice and integrity of the earth.
- Have a sense of a good order and a reasonable approach to disciplines.
- Have such qualities as unselfishness, self control and respect others.
- Keep the highest standard of honesty, integrity and good manners.
- Keep away from factors that may influence you towards any act of corruption.
- Keep the environment of the Academy a non smoking area
- Keep the classroom and its environment safe and undamaged
- Be regular and punctual
- Wear casual dress such that you will command respect.
Visa Extension
The Academy provides the necessary documents to the Immigration Office for extension of student visas, upon the request of those students who have paid their dues in full.
Tuition Fee
In case of an International Student, all fees must be paid in advance. Local students may like to pay in pre-approved installments by the Admissions Officer and incur an advance payment. The Academy reserves the right to suspend students from attending classes without an advance notice if their fees are in arrears.
International Students Tuition Fee Refund Policy
- No fees are refundable to the International Students if, after the commencement of a course, the student stops attending the classes or leaves the course before its completion, or he/she is suspended by the Academy due to non-attendance or misconduct or a legal prosecution by the law enforcing authorities.
- An International Student will be entitled to a refund of the tuition fee, less administrative charges of Euro 200 if his/her visa application is refused. A letter of refusal from the Mauritian Embassy, the original fee receipt and the original documents of admission issued by the Academy must be attached with the application form.
- If the students gets visa, and is not willing to attend the course / Academy, the deposited fee is not refundable and not transferable.
A minimum of 6 weeks is required to process the refunds on receipt of an application, according to the rules.
- No interest or profit is claimable upon any refund payments.
- The refundable amount is refunded in the same currency in which it was received by the Overseas Admission Representative or the Academy, irrespective of the exchange rate.
- All the refunds must be claimed directly from the Academy within one year of refusal date. The tuition fee will not be refunded if the request reaches later than this. This point is not applicable to appeal cases.
- The Academy reserves the right to change or amend any refund procedures at their discretion. All refunds are subject to the approval by the Managing Director.
Local Students Tuition Fee Refund Policy
This policy comes into effect where a student or company has either paid for or been invoiced for a course registration.
PROCEDURE OF REFUND POLICY
- The Admission office must receive the course withdrawal request letter/mail/fax.
- After the withdrawal is processed the parent/sponsor/student receives confirmation from the Rector that the withdrawal is completed.
- If a refund is warranted, the Managing Director will issue a refund within four weeks of the confirmation.
CONDITIONS FOR REFUND
- All the refunds must be claimed directly from the Academy within one year as from the date of approval of Refund. The tuition fee will not be refunded if the request reaches later than this.
- The Academy reserves the right to change or amend any refund procedures at their discretion. All refunds are subject to the approval by the Managing Director.
POLICY
A student above 18 who withdraws from a course must submit a written (fax or e-mail) request to the Administration Officer or A student below 18 who withdraws from a course must submit a written (fax or e-mail) request to the Administration Office from his/her parent or Sponsor.
No fees are refundable to the Students if, after the commencement of a course, the student stops attending the classes or leaves the course before its completion, or he/she is suspended by the Academy due to non-attendance or misconduct or a legal prosecution by the law enforcing authorities.
If fees are paid under mistake of law or fact, they are returnable in full
Fees will not be refunded if a candidate withdraws after the enrolment closing date, except under the following circumstances:
- For written notice provided before course commences
- Where the candidate's application for enrolment is declined by Freight Academy.
- Where the Academy cancels a course in which the candidate has enrolled or where the commencement of the course is postponed.
- Where by reason or reasons beyond the candidate's control, including natural disasters or death of the financer, the candidate is prevented from studying the course.
- Whereby the Student has serious health problem or accident and cannot continue his/her study provided that he has a solid proof (from GMO or registered Clinic)
REFUND CRITERIA
- For written notice provided before course commences – 100 % with a deduction of Rs 200 for Administration Charges.
- For written notice provided after course commences - A comparable prorated refund schedule is calculated individually on the sessions.
Course(s) Cancellation
The Academy reserves the right to cancel any advertised courses at the Academy due to insufficient admissions or enrollments. |
